Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very relaxing Memorial Day weekend, getting yard work done, hanging out with friends, and enjoying the nice weather. We went down to the waterfront for the annual Portland Rose Festival. Jalen loved seeing all the activity around us and enjoyed his first carousel ride.

Mother's Day weekend

It was a beautiful weekend in Portland, so we ventured downtown with the Hutchins on Saturday. Jalen and Brookie enjoyed checking out the old trains at Union Station's National Train Day and riding through town on the Max. We then enjoyed a nice lunch together - thanks for a great afternoon Jamie, Allison, and Brooke!

For Mother's Day, Scott and Jalen surprised me with some great gifts and Scott made me a wonderful breakfast. Jalen came down with a fever in the afternoon, so some of our outdoor plans were put on hold. I was feeling very blessed today to be a mommy to the sweetest boy in the world. It doesn't get better than spending time with my boys.

Party Time

We had an eventful weekend. Catherine Walter (neighbor and 1st grade teacher at my school) and I took eight of our students to the zoo as part of a school fundraiser. Jalen joined us and loved seeing all the animals. Unfortunately we all forgot our cameras :-( That evening we helped our friend Alundis celebrate his birthday. On Sunday we celebrated Aspen's 1st birthday. Aspen is one of Jalen's buddies that we met when they were just born - I can't believe it's almost been a year since we all met. We had a great time at his Gymboree party, followed by dinner at a local pizzaria. It's always a blast to see the boys interact.
